GALATINA private tour: outstanding, mind-blowing Giottesque frescoes in Puglia

Located 20 km south of Lecce, Galatina unveils an artistic splendor started in the fourteenth century with the Orsini del Balzo family.

The tour will lead to the discovery of real jewels, starting with the Basilica of Santa Caterina d’Alessandria, a treasure chest that houses magnificent frescoes commissioned by Princess Maria d’Enghien who in the fifteenth century called the best artists of Naples to realize valuable painting cycles comparable to those of Assisi.
