The guided tour of Dolo will be a walk in the historic center of the Venetian town surrounded by the Brenta where you can enjoy a very suggestive panorama.
It starts right from the east tip of the island, where the river channels meet to admire the Ancient Stables externally, an elegant neoclassical building built in the mid-nineteenth century which over time has been used as a slaughterhouse for slaughtering and meat processing and as a venue for exhibitions and conferences;Â From here we enter the historic center where we can walk along the Brenta river and enjoy some photos among panoramic views of the river up to the Cathedral of San Rocco.
We will visit the church built in the eighteenth century adorned with sculptures and with a ceiling full of paintings similar to the style of Tiepolo, with the adjacent bell tower that stands out throughout the city with its 80 meters high and is the second tallest bell tower in Veneto. after that of San Marco in Venice.
The tour continues on the other bank of the canal to visit the monumental Squero, the typical covered building used as a shipyard where the boats that passed along the Brenta were manufactured and repaired; The guided tour ends in the most characteristic point of Dolo, where the water mills built in the mid-16th century and a great economic resource for Venice are still visible; today the mills have been restored and transformed into wine bars and restaurants where you can taste a typical Venetian spritz for relax and a spectacular view of the river.
